Unfortunately I cannot recommend working with Jonathan from Westside Estate Agency. I was the buyer and he repped the seller. Jonathan was repeatedly deceptive, first about the discrepancy between the listing and the tax assessor’s records and then about required disclosures. Later he failed to comply with contractually agreed repair requests and other promised work. He was completely unresponsive on so many occasions. When we finally negotiated a resolution, he failed to comply with his end of the bargain. I always try to resolve issues civilly and so it’s a win-win. Jonathan made any productive or positive outcome impossible in my case.

Our real estate agent Lynn Yang with Westside Estate Agency, manipulated and lied to us throughout the entire process with her. She broke several code of Ethics and made our home selling experience awful. She cost us a lot of money because of her inability to understand market value. She did absolutely no work to help us sell our home and hired another company to do all the work. I called Westside Estate Agency and spoke with her boss Colin Keegan. I told him the whole story and asked to be released from the contract. He offered no apologies for our experience with his agent and put the blame on me for not reading the contract carefully. His main concern was that Lynn Yang get some sort of compensation. I explained that she didn’t deserve any compensation because she hadn’t done anything except delay the sale of the home. He said the best outcome was that everyone leaves the situation a little unhappy. I am not “a little unhappy”, I’m pissed off. Lynn and her brokerage were working for their best interest and not for us the clients. Colin Keegan refused to release Lynn from listing unless whatever real estate agent we moved forward with, agreed to pay Lynn a 25% referral fee. Our home ended up selling 6+ month after we listed it and sold for $100,000 less than what we wanted to list it for and sold for $249,000 less than what Lynn Yang forced us to list it for. Everyone knew that was a ridiculous price but she was too greedy to list it at a fair price. While the home was listed at her price, the interest rates went up and housing market cooled. By the time we were able to get the house listed for what we originally wanted to, the market was garbage. These people do not uphold the values and ethics the vow to when they get their licenses.

I had the extreme pleasure of having Amber Abbitt of Westside Estate Agency sell my mom’s Sherman Oaks condominium recently. Not only was she very knowledgeable about the best ways to prepare the condo for the sale process, but she listened to what I wanted, then managed everything so smoothly and efficiently that it was like a dream. She is kind and caring, and I couldn’t have imagined anyone else doing a better job. I adore her!
